AMMAN – Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir held strategic discussions with Jordanian King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, focusing on enhanced defence collaboration and regional security challenges during his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom.
High-Level Strategic Dialogue
The meeting, attended by Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein bin Abdullah, centered on strengthening bilateral cooperation across defence and security domains. General Munir conveyed cordial greetings from Pakistan’s leadership, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to deepening the historic fraternal bonds between the two Muslim countries.
Mutual Appreciation and Future Cooperation
King Abdullah II acknowledged Pakistan Army’s significant contributions to regional peace and stability, expressing keen interest in expanding defence partnership frameworks. The Jordanian monarch emphasized the importance of sustained military-to-military collaboration in addressing contemporary security concerns.
Both leaders explored avenues for enhanced cooperation in defence training, intelligence sharing, and joint strategic initiatives that serve mutual interests and contribute to broader regional stability.
Military-to-Military Engagement
During his comprehensive visit, General Munir also engaged with Jordan’s Army Chief and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces. Upon arrival at the General Headquarters in Amman, the Pakistani military leader received a ceremonial guard of honour, reflecting the respect and warmth characterizing Pakistan-Jordan relations.
