Six Soldiers Martyred in Kurram District Anti-Terror Operation

Pakistani security forces eliminated seven militants during an intelligence-based operation in Kurram district’s Dogar area, though the victory came at a significant cost with six soldiers embracing martyrdom.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the operation, conducted on October 29, targeted militants from Fitnatul Khawarij, an extremist group allegedly receiving foreign backing. The forces successfully neutralized seven operatives during intense combat.

Among those martyred was 24-year-old Medical Officer Captain Nauman Saleem from Mianwali, who demonstrated exceptional bravery by treating wounded comrades while engaging the enemy. His sacrifice exemplifies the dedication of Pakistan’s armed forces in protecting national security.

The other fallen heroes include Havaldar Amjad Ali (39) from Swabi, Naik Waqas Ahmed (36) from Rawalpindi, Sepoy Ejaz Ali (23) from Shikarpur, Sepoy Muhammad Waleed (23) from Jhelum, and Sepoy Muhammad Shahbaz (32) from Khairpur.

The military’s media wing stated that clearance operations continue in the region to ensure complete elimination of any remaining militant presence. This operation aligns with Pakistan’s National Action Plan and the Azm-e-Istehkam initiative aimed at eradicating terrorism from the country.

Recent months have witnessed a surge in militant activities across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces, both sharing borders with Afghanistan. Security forces have responded with intensified counter-terrorism operations throughout these regions.

Earlier the same day, security forces neutralized over ten militants in a separate operation near Quetta’s Chiltan mountainous region, targeting camps belonging to a banned organization.

The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security apparatus remains committed to conducting comprehensive counter-terrorism operations under the federal apex committee’s directives, ensuring the nation’s safety against foreign-sponsored threats.
