RIYADH – Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif engaged in high-level discussions with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his official visit to the Kingdom, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties across multiple strategic sectors.

The landmark meeting in Riyadh brought together key officials from both nations, including Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir. Saudi dignitaries also participated in these crucial deliberations.

Prime Minister Sharif’s three-day diplomatic mission centers on attending the 9th Future Investment Initiative (FII) conference, a prestigious global platform connecting international investors, policymakers, and business leaders. Pakistan aims to showcase investment opportunities and position itself as a viable destination for sustainable development projects.

The bilateral agenda encompasses expanding cooperation in critical areas including trade enhancement, energy partnerships, investment facilitation, and workforce development. Both leadership teams explored regional security challenges and identified opportunities for deeper collaboration on matters affecting mutual interests.

Upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport, the Pakistani delegation received a ceremonial welcome from Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Riyadh’s Deputy Governor, alongside diplomatic representatives from both countries.

This visit builds upon the recently signed Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, which establishes that aggression against either nation constitutes aggression against both, marking a historic milestone in bilateral defense cooperation.

Prime Minister Sharif will also conduct meetings with international leaders and heads of multilateral organizations attending the FII summit, discussing Pakistan’s economic vision, technological innovation, and strategies for inclusive growth within evolving global dynamics.
