GILGIT: A Gilgit-Baltistan (G-B) government helicopter crashed near Chilas, confirmed G-B government spokesperson Faizullah Faraq.
According to the spokesperson, the helicopter experienced a technical fault and went down while attempting to land.
Two pilots and two technical staff members were on board. The number of casualties remain unclear at this time.
The Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan expressed regret over the incident.
The G-B government spokesperson said the Chief Minister has directed the concerned authorities to reach the site immediately.
It is worth mentioning that on August 15, a government helicopter had crashed during relief operations in Mohmand district, resulting in the martyrdom of two pilots and five crew members.
