ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has said that India had once conveyed information about floods through diplomatic channels, but this was not a standard mechanism between the two countries.
“India provided some details on the floods at the diplomatic level, but did not share complete information with the Foreign Office,” said the Foreign Office spokesperson on Friday.
The spokesperson said that India is involved in terrorism inside Pakistan and Islamabad has shared evidence with the international community and friendly countries.
“The Indian role in fomenting terrorism in Pakistan is fully documented,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan strongly condemns Israel’s attacks on Khan Younis, in which hospitals and journalists were targeted. He added that Israel continues to commit serious human rights violations.
On Germany’s recent statement regarding Afghan refugees in Pakistan, the spokesperson said Berlin must take the issue seriously.
“Afghan citizens awaiting relocation to Germany should be evacuated from Pakistan at the earliest, and Germany should expedite their transfer,” the FO spokesperson said.
The spokesperson stressed that the Afghan government must take the threat of terrorism seriously, as safe havens for terrorists still exist in Afghanistan.
He said Pakistan knows how to protect its territory and its people, pointing out that Pakistan recently conducted operations against terrorists in border areas to safeguard its security. He added that Afghanistan must ensure its soil is not used against Pakistan.
The spokesperson said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif attended China’s Victory Day military parade, while Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar exchanged a joint communiqué with the Armenian foreign minister announcing the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Dar also held talks with the European Union’s high representative, who expressed condolences over the devastating floods in Pakistan. The prime minister thanked the EU official for the message, he said.
The spokesperson further said that following the deadly earthquake in Afghanistan that caused thousands of deaths, Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Dar contacted the Afghan foreign minister and expressed condolences over the losses.
