Warning unlicensed drivers, the Islamabad Traffic Police has given citizens a deadline of October 1 to obtain valid driving licences.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Hamza Humayun warned that after the deadline, strict action will be taken against those driving without licences.
According to the CTO, unlicensed drivers will face legal cases, arrests, and impoundment of their vehicles.
He added that the traffic police will facilitate citizens in obtaining licences until October 1. Licences can be made at Faizabad, F-6 Facilitation Centre, and through traffic facilitation vans.
Hamza Humayun clarified that only the physical copy of the licence will be accepted, while digital copies will not be valid.
Driving without a licence, he stressed, is not only a violation of law but also a risk to one’s own life and the safety of others.
The Islamabad Traffic Police, he said, will not allow anyone to endanger lives on the roads.
Meanwhile the Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have launched a special drive to facilitate government employees in obtaining valid driving licences.
The campaign began on September 16 and will continue till September 26, 2025, with services available at traffic police offices and through mobile licensing vans.
Officials have warned that from September 26 onward, strict action will be taken against unlicensed drivers.
The CTO stressed that enforcement will be applied equally to all, with penalties including heavy fines, vehicle impoundment, and even departmental proceedings against government employees who fail to comply.
