The last solar eclipse of 2025 will occur on September 21, appearing as a partial eclipse with a striking crescent-shaped Sun.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s Climate Data Processing Centre, the second and last solar eclipse of 2025 will take place on the night of September 21 and 22.
The eclipse will begin on September 21 at 10:30 pm Pakistan Standard Time. It will reach its peak at 12:42 am on September 22, while the partial eclipse will end at 2:54 am.
However, the Met Office has confirmed that this eclipse will not be visible in Pakistan as it will be night time here.
The four-hour-long spectacle will be visible across the Southern Hemisphere, including New Zealand, parts of Australia, the South Pacific, and Antarctica.
It is worth mentioning that only a few days ago, a lunar eclipse was witnessed in Pakistan and several other countries around the world, offering a spectacular sight.
The first solar eclipse of the year occurred on March 29, which was also invisible from Pakistan.
The year 2025 is projected to feature a total of four eclipses, consisting of two lunar and two solar eclipses.
A solar eclipse happens when the moon fully or partially blocks our view of the sun. The next total solar eclipse won’t happen until August 12, 2026, and will be visible from Greenland, Iceland, Spain, Russia, and part of Portugal, according to NASA.
