Pakistan and Canada have finalized a new trade agreement aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and boosting economic cooperation. The deal, announced after a high-level meeting on October 30 between Pakistan’s Minister of Finance and Revenue, Ishaq Dar, and Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anita Anand, focuses on the import of Canadian canola seeds to Pakistan.
Under this agreement, Canada will export commercial-grade canola to Pakistan to meet the country’s growing demand for edible oil. The initiative highlights Pakistan’s potential as an emerging market for Canadian agricultural exports and supports efforts to stabilize Pakistan’s food and agricultural supply chain.
Beyond agriculture, both nations also agreed to enhance collaboration in energy security and the development of critical minerals.
